On September 3, 2023, Susan Horn Thompson—an incredible mom, loving wife to JC Thompson, Nana, sister, friend, and devoted travel nurse—faced an unexpected tragedy. While helping her husband and son with a minor rooftop project, she took a devastating fall. At 62 years young, she's now battling a traumatic brain injury, six broken ribs and a broken clavicle. After the accident, Susan was unconscious for four days. She has recently awakened but faces a long and challenging recovery, including time at a specialized brain trauma rehab center.
