On August 27, 2025 my mother Susan Ellen Harris nee Koenig was called home and entered eternal sleep. I have set this go fund me up to help my father with medical expenses for my mothers cancer care.

Susan was born in Plainfield, NJ to Fred and Dorothy Koenig. The oldest of three siblings. She graduated from Linden High School and went on to get her Bachelors from TCNJ (formerly Trenton State) where she was a charter member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Susan also went on to obtain her Nursing Home Administrators license and a Masters Certificate. She has won many awards in her field and was known to be an expert.

Susan met John at their shared job at Delaire Nursing Home in Linden. After a shared bottle of blue nun wine my mom decided they couldn’t date. Well turned out that they could indeed and after 5 days they were engaged and 39 years later just shy of making the 40th anniversary were still as in love as ever.

Together Susan and John had one child, Sarah. They have had several fur babies along the way.

Four and a half years ago Susan was diagnosed with carciosarcoma and put up a brave, admiral fight. After many many days of fighting she chose to go on hospice and ultimately left this world on her terms and so very peacefully.

She is survived by her husband John, daughter Sarah (Allie), her grand pup Renee, one brother Ron (Maryanne), one sister Lisa (Rob), many nieces and nephews, and her beloved schnauzer Yvie.
