As many of you may know, Susan has been off work due to some traumatic events, which has now led to her needing surgery for gallbladder removal. She has been staying in Houston, Texas, for healing and will have the surgery there as well. With the support of really good friends, she has some good help around her and is safe where she’s at, and the doctors in The Woodlands are top notch.

The money that we get from GoFundMe will be for all the medical bills. Susan is on Medicare Part A and has not started taking Social Security and has not signed up for Part B, so all the costs, including the hospital, will not be covered by any kind of insurance or Medicare. This means every dollar raised will go directly toward her care and recovery.

As some of you know, this has been an extremely hard year for us and our family. In all of our 38 years of marriage, this has been the most devastating and emotional due to circumstances out of our control. There have already been costs that we have incurred that were unexpected and had nothing to do with health, which leaves us in an even tighter position to try and solve this dilemma of paying for surgery.
