Hi! I'm Susan, a filmmaker based in Atlanta, GA. I'm fundraising to cover the costs from my most recent film, Through Georgia, which tells the story of a young woman in a pivotal moment of her life: her decision to get an abortion.
We shot Through Georgia in November of 2024, and we're in the home stretch of editing!

The first thing you'd probably like to know... what's it about?
Living in a small town in rural Georgia with her mom after college, Amelia dreams of moving to Atlanta to start her career as a writer. She's bored and lonely and so she does what we all do when we're bored and lonely. She gets on Tinder, where she meets Luke, brilliantly charming and kind Luke. And they have instant chemistry. But, as her mother reminds her, she isn't staying in this small town. And she isn't staying with Luke. More waits for her.

And then she gets pregnant.
With no one else to take her, she asks Luke to drive her eight hours to the nearest abortion clinic. And their roadtrip-meets-friendship-meets-coming-of-age story begins.

Why should you donate?
Now more than ever, with women's healthcare on the line, especially in the deep south, we need stories that don't demonize abortion. This film needs to be made because women & people who can get pregnant deserve healthcare. Currently in the state of Georgia, abortion access is extremely limited.

Why do we need donations?
Films are expensive!
We'd like to submit this film to festivals in order to get the most sets of eyes on it as possible to increase awareness for abortion care in the U.S. Each festival has a submission fee--and we've still got costs from shooting in November 2024 that still need to be made up for!

Any amount you can donate would be so appreciated! And if you do donate, you'll get a special 'Thank You' in the end credits of the film!!
Thank you so very much! Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
