Help Susan Beckman through Covid

Susan Beckman is the beloved Aunt to her twelve nieces and nephews, the Rock and best friend to her twin sister, Sally, and the sole caregiver to her mom since Sally and Susan's father past last month from Covid. She is a friend to many and also is an "adopted" Aunt of many of her nieces and nephew's friends who call her Aunt Susan. She has been generous with her time, her love, and her money for all for her life. Many of us have received love and gifts from Aunt Susan. She supports many charities as well and is well known for putting others before herself and would never turn her back on anyone in need.

 

Susan had just started a new job 10 weeks before she came down with Covid 19. Unfortunately she was two weeks short of qualifying for medical benefits when she got sick and couldn't work. She first got sick with symptoms of Covid-19 the first week of December and was hospitalized on Dec. 10. On December 17, she took a turn for the worse, was placed in the ICU and put on a ventilator due to her heart rate elevating and her blood pressure dropping. She had to have exploratory surgery the next day due due to internal bleeding from the coughing and has been on sedation ever since. They have attempted to wean her from intubation on Christmas Day, but to do that they bring her in and out of sedation.  At this point but  still needs it to allow her to rest. It is encouraging that she has turned a corner and is taking baby steps towards recovery, but it will be a long road. She will most likely have to go to a rehab facility when discharded if she continutes to improve.

 

The Beckman family plan to help Susan also, but they have been hit severly by Covid. Susan's twin sister, Sally, had Covid immediately before Susan, and was hospitalized for 8 days. Her father passed away Dec. 7, and Sally and Susan's mom also tested positive recently and is 86 years. old.

 

This Go Fund Me account is being started so that when Susan recovers, it can help with her medical bills and expenses. We expect her to be out of work 3-6 months, and possibly longer, depending on how things go. Susan has always been there for us, and it's our turn now to be there for her.
