Help Susan Baumgard Fight Rare Leukemia
Donation protected
I created this fundraiser for my lifelong friend Susan who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
This is her message:
Dear Friends and Kind-Hearted Strangers,
I find myself facing the greatest challenge of my life. I’ve been diagnosed with a rare aggressive form of leukemia called AML. After spending a month in the hospital, I now need four treatments of chemotherapy, each lasting six consecutive days, once a month for at least four months. Then I will require a Bone Marrow Transplant. I will not be able to work for at least a year. The financial burden is overwhelming, and I am afraid we do not have the means to cover these expenses.
My husband Glenn also has medical challenges at this time following a severe accident that broke his back and took away his ability to walk. Thanks to several years of therapy and Glenn's incredible spirit, he can now walk again, albeit with a cane. Despite being disabled, Glenn refuses to give up. He continues to conquer his physical challenges. Unfortunately, Glenn now requires another back surgery and cannot work.
Asking for help is something I've never imagined I would have to do. I’ve always prided myself on being an independent person and together with Glenn, we've navigated life’s challenges with resilience and strength. As difficult as it is for us to ask for help, we are turning to you, our friends, family, and compassionate strangers, in this time of need. Any assistance you can provide will be deeply appreciated and will make a significant difference in our fight against this disease. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support.
With gratitude,
Susan Baumgard
