Help Surfside Donuts survive
Hey Surfside Donuts family,
Wow. This year has been a wild ride. My family bought surfside in May 2017 fully expecting things to run smoothly for MANY years to come. Our business has had many a learning curve, coupled with great strides the past 3 years.
2020 has thrown us our biggest, most devastating curveball of them all. My mother (our bookkeeper, donut decorator, shop mom, my best friend and fathers loving wife) passed away, extremely unexpectedly due to sudden cardiac arrest/heart attack. To say this has set us back is an understatement.
Just as we’d started feeling our stride, a small sense of normalcy, the Covid-19 pandemic hit. And when I say hit, it hit us HARD.
There is such a weight on my shoulders being considered an essential business. We LOVE our customers.... every single one of you. But we love our families, employees, suppliers too. How do we keep our community, families and friends safe?! In order to continue paying our bills, employees and rent, we chose to stay open. It’s been so trying and hard, but also SO rewarding. We have implemented the strictest policies to maintain social distancing, extreme cleansing and sanitizing, and even offer phone in curbside pickup.
As the weeks go on, we are realizing we are not making enough to get us through this. Spring is our banking time. We use the profits to help maintain our operating costs when winter comes.
We are now getting word that the SBA loans may be maxed out. This is so scary. How will we make it through?
With everything on the line, wanting to make my late mother proud, and continue serving our community... I am asking for your help.
All donations will go toward operating costs and payroll.
We can’t do much to say thank you, but I would love to provide any donors over $50.00 with a card for 10 free donuts of their choice. Cards can be used for single donuts, in the span of 10 visits. For donations under $50.00 we will provide a card for a single donut or choice and a sticker. I know this isn’t very enticing, but it is really the best I can think of for the longevity of our business.
I appreciate your time in reading this and consideration.
