Helicopter Rescue  Coordinator, Trainer, Teacher of Trekking and Mountain Guide Training Program, Freelance Writer

Hi there! A warm hello and Namaste from Nepal. Climbing Everest was always a dream and I am climbing the mountain this spring (April -May 2022) and your support will help me prepare for the Expedition. In Nepal, I am known as Helicopter Rescue Coordinator, Rescue Training Program Coordinator and an Educator. I have participated in numerous life saving Search and Rescue Missions and recovery Missions in the Mountains of Nepal and remain active whenever it is necessary.

Why support me?

Historically, Everest expedition has been possible for many folks through sponsorship by State and Big Companies. My quest to attempt Everest grew after I had the opportunity to connect with climbing community folks during my tenure as an active Helicopter Rescue Coordinator as well as Training Program Coordinator. I also teach Mountain and trekking Guides and I give free English classes to help them build their Communication skills. I make effort to expose deserving Nepali mountain Climbers who have remained under the shadow despite groundbreaking records by writing about them. I will endeavor the best to my ability to write stories so that their legacy will stay alive. It is important for the future generations to relive the mountaineering history of local heroes. I am convinced your support will boost me to remain active to promote and preserve the untold stories of the mountain with voice raised and continue teaching soft skills to Mountain and Trekking Guides.

After my attempt to climb Everest, I will donate all the Gears and Equipment I acquire through your support to someone who has the desire and commitment and what it takes to climb Everest or other 8000m. There are lots of enthusiastic climbers whose dream of reaching the summit is capped because they are unable to afford it.

As I climb, I will also be raising some important issues related to Mountaineering.

Issues I want to raise:

  • There is a clear disconnection between Everest, its workforce, accomplished Mountaineers and Athletes whose feats have received global praise. People are Nepal is less informed about these people. If our youths are connected to this industry from early age, it can change the game of the industry. We will not always be relying on visitors to sustain our Mountain Tourism. We lack in house strong mountain journalism.
  • We need to highlight the stories of some of our mountain heroes and athletes including trail runners and ultra-marathoners.
  • In past, a lot of western climbers took help with the Nepalese climbers to reach the summit but denied them of the opportunity to be on top even when they were just below the summit. If climbing was in Olympic, who would have the edge to win it all. Could anyone challenge the Sherpas? At the end of the day, this is also a race and the folks who are ahead in this game should receive recognition.
  • Visiting EBC and other mountain’s base camp should be national goal of every Nepalese Citizen. We are neglecting the treasure of our own backyard. I will be promoting people to get outdoor bound and get to the mountain adventures.
  • I educate people about the importance of having Insurance and why this security should be an instrument to make quick money when the Insurance carriers are in distress while travelling. For the visitors, these travel plans are years in making and no one should take it for granted that all the visitors are here because they have more money. It takes a lot to prepare and save money to come to Nepal. I have always raised voice to confront the wrong doers.
  • We need to have a one door rescue evacuation system in Nepal strictly supervised by the government to ensure those in need of timely rescue receive the service with pre-hospital care. We need a national system for Mountain Rescue for the Nepalese citizens and visitors. Insurance claims of Helicopter Transfers and Hospitals should be scrutinized.
  • Restricted area Helicopter Evacuation process should be streamlined as current process is time consuming and people (Nepali Citizens and visiting Tourist) have died because of such unacceptable delays.
  • Patient Transport and Pre Hospital care is a right not a luxury for few. Everyone in Nepal deserves equal and affordable treatment.
Thank you and I Count on your blessings!
