⚠️Trigger warning ⚠️ ‼️ The last 2 pictures contain graphic images of her injuries for those who may not want to see‼️
Hi guys, my name is Liz. On Saturday, August 30th, my dog Luna went missing and wouldn’t come back home. The last time I saw her was at 10:30 AM that day because I was headed out to work. I received messages and calls from my family telling me how she was nowhere to be found. I got home at 1:20 AM, and that’s when I found her in front of our doorstep. She wasn’t moving, and all I could see were her wounds and her sad, teary eyes. My family and I tried to clean her wounds as much as we could and tried to keep the wounds from infection.
I took her to my best friend's mother on September 1 at 2:00 AM since she works at a vet and knows what to do. That same day at 12:00 PM, we took her to a veterinary hospital because her wounds were too severe and needed immediate attention and surgery. We were told she had been hit by a vehicle but had no broken bones. The vet we went to wouldn’t let her have surgery but did a wound cleaning, treatment, and sedated her and gave her anesthesia for pain. The bill was, as expected, over $1300.
Her surgery is another bill that has to be covered by another veterinary hospital, plus the materials we need to continue to change her bandages and treat her wound from home. I can’t stop working so that I am able to pay for her medical bills, but sadly, in this economy and with my type of job, it is not enough. I’m working a minimum wage job, and I’m still paying for my college tuition and other personal expenses.
It’s uncomfortable and, if I do say, a bit embarrassing for me to come out asking for help from strangers. But my baby needs medical help, and she kept clinging to life just to make it home to us; I’m not going to let her efforts to stay alive be in vain. Thank you so much if you finished reading. It means a lot to me and Luna. God bless you in abundance. We are grateful, and please keep Luna in your prayers. Thank you.
