Hey, my name is Zara and I'm fundraising for my best friend Zoe Newman. Lots of you will know her for many different reasons: as a bar tender many moons ago to chef to street trader all the way to most recent months to owning one of the coolest small businesses in the heart of Heaton.

Zoe made the difficult decision to close her business to focus on scaling back into a new business model with more focus on outside catering and events but unfortunately that can't happen due to this new situation she now has to deal with. Many of you will know of her as an artist and have her artwork on the walls in your home. To most she is known as being a caring, vibrant daughter, niece, cousin and loyal friend.

Zoe recently found out after a long year of health issues that she has a APL, a subtype of Acute myeloid Leukaemia. it affects the white blood cells causing immature cells to build up in the bone marrow and blood.

The good news is that there is a 97% survival rate and if you know our Zoe you know how much she will fight this. However I and I'm sure so many of you will want to help and take away as much external stress as possible to let her focus on her healing and allow her Mother and partner and close friends care for her as she navigates Chemotherapy and long stays in hospital in the coming months without any added pressures, as the road to recovery ahead comes with many uncertainties.

Thinking about rent and bills is something I don't want her worrying about at this time so I call on you to lets all get together and do what we can as a support network, a community like we would want for ourselves and our loved ones.

Anything you wish to donate will be hugely appreciated, no matter how small. The funds will be deposited directly into Zoes account so she can continue to stay on top of direct debits so I am hoping to raise as close to a years worth of rent as possible.
