Hi everyone,
As many of you know, Zayden has been facing significant health challenges since September 2022. He was diagnosed with a Very Rare catastrophic (1 in 1 million epilepsy) F.I.R.E.S Epilepsy Syndrome. This horrible diagnosis has brought more horrible diagnosis, Asthma, PTSD, ADHD, Anxiety, behavioral issues, etc.
He had several spinal taps, several MRIS, several CT scans and nothing has given us any answers. All negative tests which make it difficult to treat. He takes 6 medications twice a day and 2 injections twice a day for a year now. All medications have horrible side effects including suicidal ideation. He has to get bloodwork done every 30 days to make sure the injections aren’t affecting his liver. His veins are shot and he gets poked several times before they are able to get any blood. The trauma he faces every day is beyond difficult for him. He isn’t able to attend school much as he has severe PTSD and doesn’t feel safe. He comes with me to work sometimes but even then it’s hard, he recently had a seizure while with me at work so we had to leave as this is extremely exhausting and painful for him. On November 10th he had Vagus Nerve Stimulator surgery, they cut his neck and chest , in hopes that this will give him much needed relief. The generator gets cut on this Tuesday the 28th but can take up to a year to get the settings just right! Dealing with these complexities has been emotionally and financially draining for the family. We have been doing everything in our power to provide the best care for our child, but the constant doctors appointments and seizures and severe ptsd and anxiety makes it very difficult and challenging for mom to work and pay bills. Keeping up financially has become overwhelming. A disability claim was made in December of 2022 and they are yet to approve nor deny! The case worker was fired and now a new one has been assigned to his case. A waiting game that isn't helping.
We are reaching out to our community for support during this difficult time. We are humbly asking for help with the financial burden we are facing.
