Help Support Zakaria Fired For Organizing Union

My Name is Zakaria Khafagy and I am the president of the New York Cannabis Workers Union (NYCWU) In March my fellow co workers and myself began to growing tired of CBD Kratom and their managements lack of care regarding our safety and well being. When we began working at CBD Kratom, we were told that we were a family that was valued. We grew to love the company and it’s products, as well as the community of loyal customer in which we fostered. The company’s motto is sleep well, wake well, live well. Yet that motto did not seem to apply to its workers. Some of the things we were forced to endure include no working restrooms, wage theft, no sick leave, and unequal pay amongst coworkers even thought we had the same position. After careful consideration, the staff of CBD Kratom and myself decided the only way the company can live true to its values is if we formed a union. Yet when we had announced that we had enough cards to have a union vote, CBD Kratom unjustly fired me. I was fired on 7/21/2022 the same day the company was notified that we would unionize. Even thought I was terminated, I am refusing to give up. I will continue organizing for a union at CBD Kratom. Please help me as I lead this struggle. Thank you.
