Zahlee is 9 years old and has been battling illness and disease her whole life. When she was 3, an MRI discovered a lesion on her brainstem, which we now know is a Low Grade Glioma.
At 7 years old, Zahlee declined clinically so underwent an intensive 12 months of chemotherapy. We saw some stabilisation in the tumour and her symptoms.
Recently, Zahlee has shown some decline again. MRI revealed that the tumour has had further growth and now she will need to begin a gruelling 18 months of weekly chemotherapy.
Alongside the obvious emotional toll, this will also take a further financial toll on our family. Frequent trips to the hospital in an unreliable car, car parking, loss of income, fuel, food…It all adds immense pressure.
We have prided ourselves in being fiercely independent in our journey and we are extremely hesitant in asking for help. However, our cars are in desperate need of repairs to be able to journey safely to the hospital, plus the added financial strains treatment entails. We reluctantly ask for help to be able to take the pressure off as we face the next 18 months of this horrible journey.
Money raised will fore-mostly go into making our car safe and reliable as this is the biggest strain at the moment.
We appreciate immensely anything at all you may be able to help us with.
