3 Year Retreat in Nepal

Hello my friends :).

I have received the empowerment for the meditation cycle I'd like to practice from my venerable teacher,Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, and as a next step I would like to enter into a 3-year meditation retreat in Nepal sometime in mid-2025. I shared this intention with Rinpoche and not only is he supportive of my aspiration, he has agreed to provide me with guidance and instructions.

For the last several years I’ve been living in India on $130 per month and my funds are now running very low.

Working with a professional who helps Western people like me to be able to stay in Nepal for the full three years of retreat, I have learned this information;

I will need to keep $3,000 in my Nepali bank account throughout the retreat - this money will be frozen, as financial proof to immigration authorities for the visa extensions.

I will also need $2,000 per year for the visa extensions and some other bureaucracy.

In total I will need $3,000 + $2,000*3 = $9,000.

I will also need to fly back home to share time with my parents before the retreat, do some dentistry and other necessaries.

This retreat is incredibly important to me, in some ways it’s what I’ve been training and working towards, for all of these years, however $9,000 is way far beyond my current financial capabilities and so I’ve decided to ask you wonderful people for any assistance you feel to share. I know these times are financially challenging for many of us and I will be very grateful with any amount you choose to offer.
