Help support with funeral arrangements and burial expenses

Beautiful people, thank you for taking the time to read and share our post.

Throughout our lives, we have endeavored to confront challenges with optimism and fortitude. However, the past few years have presented us with unforeseen and arduous trials.

On Thanksgiving Day in 2024, Darlene was alone at home preparing to go to dinner when she experienced an ischemic stroke, a blood clot in her brain, resulting in a fall and head injury. This incident led to a coma. Upon awakening, Darlene exhibited limited sensation and mobility in her left side. Unfortunately, she was unable to fully regain leg function due to insufficient rehabilitation. Additionally, Darlene suffered from interstitial lung disease, a condition that causes scarring of lung tissue. Prior to her fall, Darlene was oxygen dependent and became oxygen deprived until EMS arrived.

For a period of immense distress, the medical staff believed Darlene was not going to survive. However, she miraculously recovered and embarked on a journey of recovery.

Since then, life has undergone a profound transformation.

Regrettably, at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, Darlene was discovered unresponsive in her nursing home bed. She was promptly transported to the hospital. Tragically, Darlene has suffered her second stroke, a hemorrhagic stroke , which is massive, uncontrollable, and located in the brainstem (controls vital functions, heart rate, breathing). The severity of this stroke precluded surgical intervention to halt bleeding, as the surgeon advised against it due to its potential immediate fatal consequences.

To date, Darlene has exhibited no brain activity, and efforts to mitigate the swelling in her head have been unsuccessful.

Since her incident, the family has been grappling with the weight of this loss. Initially, we resisted seeking assistance, but upon the suggestion of friends and family, we created this page to provide those who are close to us with the opportunity to offer support during this difficult time.

If you feel compelled to assist, even by simply sharing this page, we would be profoundly grateful. Each gesture, no matter how small, and every word of encouragement serve as reminders that we are not alone.

With utmost sincerity, we express our deepest gratitude.
