Hi everyone, we’ve been going through a really hard time with Winston and wanted to share what’s been happening.

Winston is our sweet dog who truly brings so much joy to everyone he meets. He’s the most loving, cuddly boy and he is our best friend.

Recently, he had a sudden spinal disc injury that left him paralyzed and he needed emergency surgery right away. Everything happened so fast, and we ended up traveling to PEI so he could get the care he needed. Thankfully the surgery went well, but he still has a long recovery ahead of him. Right now, he isn’t able to walk yet, but we are staying hopeful that with time and care he will make a full recovery.

He will need ongoing care, including follow up appointments and rehabilitation , to give him the best chance at walking again. We’ve also had to shift a lot of our time and focus to his recovery, as he needs constant care right now which limits us to how much we’re able to work.

Between the emergency care, surgery, travel, and follow ups, we’ve had over $15,000 so far in unexpected costs. We would do this for him no matter what, but it has definitely been a lot all at once, especially after getting married last summer and buying our home this fall.

We didn’t want to ask for help, but people have encouraged us to share this. So if you’re able to contribute anything at all, we would be so incredibly grateful. And if not, we completely understand, even just sharing this would mean a lot to us.
