Wendy Clark, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend to many in the Albany/Corvallis community suffered a heart attack followed by flash pulmonary edema the morning of June 29th, 2021. She was found early in her home by two of her daughters, Bailey and Riley, who were able to perform chest compressions until paramedics arrived on the scene.
Wendy was taken to the Samaritan Albany General Hospital where the staff managed to get her semi-stable with a pulse, and intubated while she was prepped for an emergency life flight. All nearby hospitals in Oregon and Washington were unavailable due to COVID-19 restrictions and full capacity, and Wendy was sent to St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center in Idaho where she has access to heart and lung specialists.
Wendy is currently making great progress in her recovery and healing at St. Luke’s where the amazing doctors and nurses are giving her the best treatment available.
As of now, Wendy is stable and no longer using a ventilator to breathe. She does have residual fluid in her lungs and chest, but she is awake and able to communicate with no brain damage. Doctors have not been able to give a time frame for when Wendy may be discharged, but for now she has immediate family staying in a nearby hotel.
The family is so thankful for all the love and continued support being shown for Wendy during these uncertain times. They appreciate all the thoughts and prayers allowing for her recovery.
