What a year 2020 has been for all of us. Despite what we have experienced with this pandemic, we are fortunate to still be living and breathing.
Firstly we ask that anyone who has received this link to only forward via email or messenger and to those friends who you know would be interested in supporting.
Wanita is not aware of this fundraiser and as you all know she is a very private person. Not many know of the situation she is going through, so out of respect for her wishes we would like to keep it as private as possible.
Please also be mindful that messaging her at this time to wish her well could lead to her receiving an influx of messages for her to respond to in which she may not have the energy for.
We are putting this go fund me page together as Wanita has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. She has been fighting this for some time, having gone through chemo sessions. She is fighting this like a warrior and the strength and positivity that just flows from her despite the fact she is fighting the biggest battle of her life is just inspiring.
She will need to undergo surgery soon and post-surgery will see her continue chemo treatment and have to take 6 months leave from work without pay.
The funds will assist her whilst she is off work getting treatment and going through recovery. It will mainly assist with outpatient costs going forward.
Having moved to Melbourne just pre covid, Wanita was ready to take on a new job and excited about the new opportunities and journey that was to come. As you can imagine, being diagnosed with such cancer and at an aggressive stage was not at all expected.
Let’s see what we can do to assist. I know that whilst she has been so strong in going solo on this journey, there is that time when support from friends will go a long way and she will appreciate it.
We will let Wanita in on this once this funding page is reached and if you have messages of support, we can also collate and send them to her.
