The time has come! I am finally, after over 10 years of writing music, bringing my debut EP, Grow in the Silence, into the world!

This EP includes 5 songs, recorded live over 3 days, at my dear friend Kyle Robertson's beautiful family lake house in New Hampshire, with a great bunch of faithful friends -- some old and some new who jumped right into this project as if they'd known and cared for me all along. We worked together as a band and makeshift choir, with a whole lot of hope, passion, dedication, and love to co-create this project.

If you don't know me, my name is Vanessa Hale, and I am a singer/songwriter, voice teacher, and music therapist from New Hampshire.

Over the last few years, I went through a very transformational and challenging time of great personal struggle, change, and evolution, and these songs are a living documentation of this process. These songs tell a story of being deeply lost within codependency, depression, and self sabotage, questioning who I am, navigating loss, and beginning to rediscover my personal power and freedom.

I sincerely believe that I was able to alchemize those dark times into profound personal growth because I had these songs coming through to heal me -- and a great group of friends who really believed in me.

Through this recording process, on the weekend of the Winter Solstice 2024, my intention was to symbolically and ceremoniously close a chapter of my life, welcome a renewal, and celebrate the harvest of the challenges and tumult of that time. Recording these songs brought me through the threshold, like a brave seed climbing through the dark soil and into the light.

I am asking for financial support to bring this EP home so that the world can finally hear it. Here is a breakdown of the costs:

$1600 for mixing and mastering, by Brendan Connors

$400 for my co-producer, Nate Shaffer

$200 for support with any additional costs such as renting a space for the EP release show, photos for the album cover art, and creating CDs and potentially other merchandise

I am overjoyed to share this music with you all so soon. Though the songs are still in the mixing/mastering process and I do not have a set release date yet, I am envisioning a goal of June 21st -- the summer solstice.
