One day this summer Jerae found a hard lump in her abdomen, we took note of the issue and added it to the things we needed to talk to the doctor about next time we get her in. She wasn't able to schedule with her PCP before December, so we waited. However, she started toe exhibit other symptoms from intense pain and bleeding and trouble using the bathroom and back pain that started to scare us. So we went to urgent care and they were unable to be sure but thought with the back pain it might be appendicitis.

So we got sent to the ER to perform more tests. After 5 hours in the ER she finally got a battery of expensive tests done: x rays, CT scans, and ultrasounds. To our horror, Jerae was diagnosed with multiple softball sized fibroid tumors, at least 5 and these were growing rapidly in and around her uterus. To fix the problem and keep them from coming back she has to undergo a full hysterectomy and will require weeks of recovery time in which time she will not be able to work and we will have the medical bills piling up on top of our already existing bills. She hasn't been at her job long enough to be eligible for FMLA or state assisted leave so we are going to have to shoulder this entirely ourselves.
