Hello! We are the Delta Kappa Alpha chapter at University of California, Santa Barbara, a national professional film organization, dedicated to creating a collaborative, creative and industry-imitated environment to train our inspiring filmmakers on real-world experience. Our members include writers, directors, producers, editors, cinematographers and hard workers of all kinds who are passionate about storytelling and eager to create.
DKA provides members and students with hands-on productions, industry workshops, guest speakers, networking opportunities and the chance to create or work on two DKA-funded productions per quarter. Through these collaborative short films, we bridge the gap between academic interest and industry-grade experience, giving our members the best opportunities to prepare for their careers in film, television and media.
Right now, our fundraising goals are oriented towards sending our members to retreat in March. This annual retreat is at the heart of our organization, as it is a time to build trust, spark creativity and grow as a team. For years, this tradition has helped bring our members closer together as collaborators, teammates and friends. We are slightly below our goal and any support is incredibly valuable to us.
Your support would also go directly toward funding student film productions,(including equipment, location fees, and post-production software), hosting industry professionals for workshops, hosting events to raise awareness and student participation, and making filmmaking opportunities more accessible to all students, regardless of financial backgrounds.
Film is an expressive art form, and financial limitations should not stop students from using their creative voices. Every donation helps us continue creating long-lasting, powerful stories.
Thank you for your support! Our student filmmakers at DKA are extremely grateful for your help in keeping independent, creative filmmaking alive at UCSB!
