Help Support Tyler on His Road to Recovery

Donation protected
In late July, Tyler was on his way back home from a trip in Florida with his girl friend and friends, riding in the back seat. It was storming and the car hydroplaned and flipped into a ravine. As a result from the accident, Tyler endured a C6 burst fracture which has caused loss of feelings and movement in his legs, feet, arms, and hands. Tyler was airlifted to the hospital and had surgery the following day to repair the fracture in his neck. Over the past month and a half, Tyler received physical rehabilitation but was recently transported back home in Alabama due to insurance limits.

Considering the extent of his injuries, Tyler has made great progress & can now wiggle his feet and at some points has regained movement in his legs. Although still very weak, he now has function in his hands. Due to being wheelchair bound, he is unable to currently live independently at his apartment and is in the care of his grandparents at their home. He has been receiving weekly in-home physical therapy but his therapist has strongly advised that Tyler really needs outpatient therapy in order to make progress.

Unfortunately, insurance coverage only goes so far, and the cost of surgery, hospital stays, transportation, and ongoing care has quickly added up.

We are reaching out to our friends, family, & community to help ease the financial burden this life-changing accident has caused Tyler. If you are in any position to donate any amount, big or small, know that your donation will make a meaningful difference in Tyler’s recovery and will be going toward the cost from the time of the helicopter ride all the way through to receiving outpatient care and everything in between.

His grandparents are doing their best to take care of him, but with their age and their own health problems, your generosity would also help to ensure the proper care can be accessed for Tyler and lessen both the mental and physical stress for his grandparents.

We thank every single one of you for the thoughts and prayers given towards Tyler. If you are not in the position to donate, that is completely understandable, and we only ask if you can either share this post or simply continue to send good thoughts and prayers for Tyler as he continues on this challenging journey toward healing and regaining independence.
