Travis’ big surgery has come and gone. He’s now 7 months post-op and has mostly recovered well. However, a couple of months ago one of his incisions began to drain fluid, leading his doctors to discover a fluid collection in his lower abdomen. The fluid just found its way out through that incision causing the full healing to that wound to be delayed.
He had a drain placement for a couple of weeks, which seemed to help initially, but almost as soon as they removed the drain the fluid began to drain through that incision yet again. His doctors were hopeful that the body would take care of the fluid on its own, but as the problem has persisted they feel surgery is the next step.
On June 2nd he’s scheduled for surgery to open that incision back up, clean the area, clean out the fluid, and figure out the best way for the incision to begin to heal properly - either a full closure or leaving it open to heal from the inside out. This is essentially starting the healing process all over again.
There are a lot that goes into this journey, not just physically + emotionally, but also financially. We are asking for help with travel expenses, a high deductible for out of state care, and monthly medical supplies.
More than anything, we ask for prayer as we head into another surgery + recovery. That his body would respond well and that this time his incision would heal perfectly + quickly. We thank all of you who have helped us and supported us over the last almost 5 years. We could never truly express how thankful we are and thank the Lord for each of you!
