Hi everyone,
Tommy, my 1.5 year old Burmese male cat, has always been a playful and loving companion. He lives with me and my roommates—we’re all college swimmers—and he’s truly the heart of our home. Tommy is always running around the house, playing with everyone, and bringing smiles to all of us. His soft meow is often the only sound that makes my bad days better.
Over the past month, I noticed he was having increasing difficulty using the litter box, often spending a long time trying to urinate and licking himself excessively in the genital area. I took him to the vet several times, but a few nights ago things took a turn for the worse... Tommy spent over 30 minutes in the litterbox and couldn’t urinate at all. Recognizing this as a sign of a possible urethra blockage, I rushed him to the closest ER, terrified for his life.
At the ER, the veterinary team was able to express his bladder and prescribed him medication to help with the pain and inflammation. The next day, Tommy needed to be fully sedated for a urinary diagnostic exam and received more medication, including antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids to help wash out any possible crystals. The costs for these emergency visits and treatments quickly added up, and as a college student-athlete, I simply don’t have the resources to cover them all on my own.
Tommy means the world to me, and I want to do everything I can to make sure he recovers and stays healthy. The funds raised here will go directly toward his ER and vet bills, medications, and any follow-up care he needs. Any support you can offer would mean so much to both of us. Thank you for helping me give Tommy the care he deserves.
With gratitude,
Tommy’s human
