Hello! My name is Cecilia and I am doing what I can to help a friend going through an impossible time.
Just last month, Candy’s older brother, Tommy, was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer. Despite Tommy’s strength, the doctors’ care, and everyone’s prayers, the cancer has spread too far throughout his body. Treatment is no longer an option, and our focus now is on keeping Tommy comfortable as he transitions from the hospital to hospice.
This is an incredibly heartbreaking time for everyone who loves Tommy — for Candy and her family, who must once again say goodbye to someone they hold dear, and for his devoted partner, Sally.
Tommy and Sally shared 28 beautiful years together and, in a testament to their love, exchanged vows in a spiritual ceremony. Sally has been by his side through every moment of this battle, but she has not been working for the past 2 weeks. While the difficult decision to transfer to hospice has been made, we are looking for any support that could be offered to help cover the cost of the hospice stay, his urn and cremation and anything additional to help Sally during this time.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help lighten the burden on Tommy’s family, allow us to give him the peaceful farewell he deserves, and help ensure Sally is supported as she navigates the days ahead.
While we know the time to say goodbye is approaching, we are deeply grateful for every extra moment with him and for the love, prayers, and kindness that surround us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support.
