Tina Mayo and her husband, Damon, are facing a difficult and overwhelming medical journey. In October, Tina suffered a stroke. After extensive testing, doctors discovered a brain aneurysm—something that, thankfully, was found before it had the chance to rupture. However, doctors have made it clear that it is only a matter of time before it could become life-threatening without surgery.

Tina is scheduled to undergo brain surgery at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on January 9, 2026. Before surgery, she must travel to Seattle for three pre-operative appointments spread over two different days. After surgery, she will need to remain hospitalized for two to three days for close monitoring, assuming all goes well. While Tina’s insurance has covered some testing and part of her medications, many costs are not covered. These include additional medical tests and medications, travel expenses and repeated trips to Seattle, hospital parking, and lost income, as Damon has already taken numerous days off work to care for Tina and get her to appointments.

Tina and Damon are already struggling to stay afloat financially, and the upcoming medical expenses will place a substantial burden on them during an already stressful time.
