Help support Tim through liver failure
My name is Kara, and I'm reaching out to you in a time of need, though not on my behalf but for my dad. I feel like this is my turn to give back after a lifetime of him doing the same for me, especially right now as he struggles with liver failure. While my brother and I can provide him with all the love and comfort, the one thing I can't do alone is support him and his incredible wife, my stepmom Kristine, financially.
About a year and a half ago, my dad, Tim, began showing signs of liver trouble – fatigue, weakness, nausea, pain– symptoms that progressed over time. He has heartbreakingly been diagnosed with liver failure. The news has been devastating for my family and I. Trying to come to terms with his disease hasn't been easy, but finding out he is on the list and waiting for a liver transplant has given us all hope for my dad to be with us for many more years.
One of my biggest wishes is to make the struggles he's facing easier on him physically and mentally. If you knew my dad, you would know he is not one to ask for help. I came to GoFundMe to ask for help for him.
I admire my dad's strength and determination to live life the way he always has. trying to worry us less. The pain that his liver failure is causing is wearing on him and his body faster than our hearts can handle. The heartache of seeing my dad struggle is something I wish on no family.
Since I'm here asking for your support, I'd like to tell you all about my best friend. Let me start with what type of dad he is…
He’s the type of dad that plays jokes, he’s that silly kind of guy. He's the type of dad who always went above and beyond to make our time with him when we were younger special. He's the type of dad that bought my brother jesse a sword and i a wand driving us to the redwoods at night walking through the park with headlamps. He would tell a story, and we walked through jumping and climbing. Hes the type of dad to send me to the garden and pick what i think smells good and bring it back to boil into perfume for me. Taking us to the ocean in Seattle to explore the tide pools or going on picnics to truly beautiful places. Teaching us bits of knowledge we wouldn't learn anywhere else. He's the type of dad who became a proud “papa”/grandfather to my niece Scarlett. It's always “Hey Papa this” or” Hey Papa that.” This is only a fraction of who my dad is, but in my eyes, to say he's been a good father is an understatement.
He’s a very special person for so many reasons and I would like to return all the love he’s shown my brother, siblings, stepmom, and family by raising enough money to support his living expenses while he's healing and not have to worry about getting back to work as soon as possible and heal the right way…( to him that would be the second he thinks he's able to get out of bed.)
Recovery is about 3 to 4 months to heal completely and right now, fortunately, my uncle owns his own restaurant, “Uncle Buds Place,” where my dad now works. Working with my uncle has given him the opportunity to make money but also take time every other week to get his stomach drained, doctor’s appointments, and now more frequently to take off whenever his symptoms are too much. My stepmom Kristine right now is the main financial supporter trying to make ends meet. My goal is 9,000 for the financial struggle my dad and stepmom will go through during recovery time. Anything to make his burden easier to carry means the absolute world to me and my family.
Here is from my dad's good friend Julia:
Tim Buell has been a familiar face in Prescott for many years. He was a beloved bartender as well as manager for Prescott Station and then Red White and Brew, which are in the same location but are different restaurants. Tim would often joke that he came with the building.
As someone who has worked alongside Tim at Red White and Brew, I have seen firsthand the impact he's had on the community. Tim has been a mentor and friend to many, myself included, sharing his wealth of knowledge on subjects ranging from gardening to whiskey to backpacking. His presence has left an indelible mark on all of us who know him.
Tim's brother Chris is the owner/operator of Uncle Bud's Cajun BBQ. When Chris needed help with running the eatery, Tim didn't hesitate to switch gears and jump in to assist. He remains by his brother's side at Uncle Bud's today.
Now is the time for us to rally around Tim and provide him with the support he needs. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in helping Tim and his family get through this challenging time.
Join his me in supporting Tim as he navigates this critical period in his life. Every donation, no matter the size, will go a long way in ensuring that Tim can focus on his recovery without the burden of financial worries.
Let's show Tim the same care and kindness that he shows to so many others. Together, we can help him write the next chapter of his remarkable journey without worries.
