Help Support Tiffany's Fight with Cancer

In December, Tiffany developed some swelling in the right side of her neck.  After a couple rounds of antibiotics and some steroids along with follow up care, a biopsy determined she has a fast growing adenocarcinoma in her parotid gland (commonly called "spit gland" or "salivary gland.") .   The cancer has spread to her lymph nodes and to one spot in her lower jaw.  Her facial nerves are already damaged and will likely have to be cut completely during surgery, resulting in right sided facial paralysis.  She will need to undergo a complicated 12 hour surgery at Henry Ford to remove the tumor.  As part of the surgery, they will remove one of the fibulas (smaller bone in the lower part of the leg) to recreate a lower jaw bone.  Recovery is expected to be long; she will need therapies including PT/OT and speech therapy.  Because she is likely to experience paralysis of the right side of her face, she will need some therapy to relearn eating and talking.  She will also have to have skin grafting and may need reconstructive surgeries down the road.  She will for sure need radiation therapy and possibly chemo.  She will not be able to work during any of this, and medical expenses are already mounting.  

Tiffany is not one to ask for help.  We created this fundraiser in the hopes of raising $5000 to offset some of the travel expenses, housing, and meals for traveling to and from at Henry Ford, which sometimes includes staying in their on-site housing, in addition to monthly living expenses that she is not able to cover while being off work.  Thank you for any amount you can gift.  Also please follow Tiff's journey on our Facebook page to show your support.
