We’re thrilled to announce the formation of The Windfall Initiative, a nonprofit devoted to helping agricultural businesses rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Helene.

The Windfall Initiative is a collective of skilled laborers, volunteers, and arborists united in restoring critical farm structures—such as barns, fences, and other essential facilities—so farms can resume operations and rebuild livelihoods.

As part of our mission, we are also committed to environmental stewardship. We’re using local downed trees to provide sustainable materials for repairs, blending eco-conscious practices with community restoration.

My name is Sarah Jourdain, from Atlanta, GA. While my family and I were fortunate not to be directly impacted by Hurricane Helene, dear friends of ours in Ashe County, NC, were not so lucky. They've reached out, asking for help to raise funds for their community - a county that has been devastated by the store and now faces the difficult task of surviving and rebuilding.

Hurricane Helene has left a path of destruction across many areas, but few have suffered as deeply and quietly as the residents of Ashe County, North Carolina. This is a tight-knit, low-income community, far from the media spotlight and often overlooked when disaster strikes. Yet, the people of Ashe County have experienced some of the most devastating damage.

Many families are stranded in their homes, unable to access basic necessities like food, clean water, or critical supplies. With limited resources, transportation challenges, and little outside help, they are struggling to recover from this tragedy. Relief efforts are focused elsewhere, leaving Ashe County without the urgent assistance it needs.

We’re coming together to change that. Your donations will go directly to providing emergency food, water, and supplies to these families, helping them get through the aftermath of this devastating storm. Additionally, the funds will be used for tools and equipment they need to begin rebuilding their lives. Every dollar counts—whether it's to provide a hot meal, fresh water, or essential items for families who have lost everything.
