This GoFundMe is to help preserve history, a local hidden gem, the livelihood of a business built from the ground up over nearly 30 years, and save an experience like no other in the United States.
Your support throughout this fundraiser would mean more than the world to us. The Vortex Arcade was sketched out by Daniel Solis when he was 8 years old, more than 40 years ago, and over the course of almost 30 years of collecting and restoring games, his dream has come to fruition to become a place that has inspired and captivated a new generation of gamers.
The money raised from this campaign will help support the business by going directly into rent to help us stay open through the Covid-19 pandemic. Our goal of 25,000 dollars would be able to support us for nearly 6 months while we weather this storm.
To show our appreciation, we are offering the following rewards to those who generously donate.
$10 Donation: Patrons will receive a poster individually numbered and signed by each team member of The Vortex Arcade.
$25 Donation: Patrons will receive a shirt hand made by our team that will signify that you supported us during our time of need.
$30 Donation: Patrons will receive both the shirt AND the poster!
$50 Donation: Patrons will have their name forever engraved on a plaque that will be prominently displayed at the arcade, as well as the shirt and the poster!
$100 Donation: Patrons will receive an actual arcade marquee that has been in our collection, as well as the plaque, the shirt, and the poster! The first 15 patrons to donate at this level will have their choice of marquee, first come first served. Every donation at this level beyond the first 15 will get a marquee from the collection, but will be chosen at random. (Patrons also have the choice of having their marquees signed by Team Vortex as well)
$1500 Donation: Patrons who donate at this level are dedicated, and for that we are immeasurably grateful. At this level, we will build you your own arcade cabinet, and you'll get all the previous rewards as well! This cabinet will be customizable and can be built for a variety of gaming styles ranging from classic titles to fighting games and everything in between! (approximately 10 available)
$2,000,000 Donation: This one is... well it's 99.9% a joke. But if someone is crazy
enough, a two million dollar donation gets you the keys to the arcade and everything inside it!! Well, everything except our computer and some sentimental items that is. You get every arcade game, all the art, the rarities, all the signed memorabilia, 99.9% of all the items in the arcade save for the aforementioned personal bits. We also get to keep all of our blue Donkey Kong cabinets, the donator gets the rare red Donkey Kong (there are less than 2200 in the world).
