Scott has been having migraine headaches for almost a month now. On Monday December 7th he fell at Dollar General due to losing control of his left leg. His sister-in-law Crystal happened to be at the store and was able to help Scott regain his composure. Scott being the strong, stubborn guy he is decided he didn't need the ER, he would go to Carr Clinic and have an adjustment because he was sure it was just a pinched nerve. A big thank you to Dr. John Carr for realizing Scott had more going on than a pinched nerve and directed him to the Miller ER. Dr. John Hopkins was on call and immediately ordered a CT scan, this showed that something was definitely not right..Scott has a tumor. Dr. Hopkins conferred with neurology at Avera in Sioux Falls, he was then put on medication to help reduce some of the swelling in his brain. Due to covid, no beds were available in SF, so Scott and Trisha waited at the hospital until early Tuesday evening when they got the call that a bed was finally available. Scott took an ambulance to Avera Mckennan and receive a MRI Tuesday morning at 1:30am. Scott and Trish have met will multiple doctors today and they all agree this golf ball size tumor on the right frontal lobe of his brain needs to be removed. Once they get the tumor removed and biopsied they will know more of what exactly needs to be done. The doctors believe the prognosis is Cancer..but we are keeping are hopes up and praying that the tumor is benign. Scott and Trish will be home sometime tomorrow, and will go back next Wednesday December 16th for surgery. Scott's mom Linda is flying in from CA to stay for at least a month so Trish can continue to work. We will know more after the tumor is removed and the biopsy results come back. Scott and Trish would like to thank their families and friends who have reached out with support and prayers, they are forever grateful. Kalley and Ryker are being troopers and taking this entire situation in strides and we would like to keep life as normal as possible for them! Please consider donating to this beautiful family as the future is so unknown!
