~ Cherish everything, for anything can happen ~ Haley Tarrant

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Mark Tarrant, beloved husband, father, son and friend, on May 12th, 2023. In addition to his most sacred role as a family man, Mark was an amazing author, musician and actor. His vivid imagination and outgoing nature allowed him to touch the lives of so many and he will be deeply missed.

As most of you know, Lisa is a genuinely special soul. She is unquestioningly reliable on both a personal and professional level, always one of the first to step in to help a friend in need and an unfailingly dependable source of support for her many clients that rely on her. The past three weeks have been an extremely trying time, both emotionally and financially, for his family as Mark struggled in the ICU. In addition to losing the love of her life and soulmate of 30 years, Lisa now must navigate the arduous path forward dealing not only with her and Haley’s unimaginable grief, but also the medical and other expenses that have mounted quickly.

We ask first and foremost for prayers for strength during this most difficult time. It is also now our turn to give back to a family who has shown so much support and kindness to so many of us throughout the years. “You are the story,” was the vision for Mark’s most recent project. Let’s make helping them a part of our story. ~ This was beautifully written by Jolynn Welker

Mark Tarrant - You are the Story

Born: September 15, 1971
Onto His Next Adventure: May 12, 2023

Mark James Tarrant of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and formerly of Chicopee, Massachusetts left this world for his next great adventure on May 12, 2023 at the age of 51 where he will join his grandparents Edward and Louise Tarrant and Dale Hamlin and Joan Hamlin and cousin Daniel Bramos. In this world he leaves behind his wife and soulmate of 30 years, Lisa Tarrant and their beautiful and talented daughter, Haley, as well as his parents James and Patricia Tarrant and brothers Jason Tarrant and Michael and Stephanie Tarrant of Chicopee, Massachusetts and his second family Henry and Catherine Cundiff of Bayfield, Colorado, and sisters and brothers Penny and Ed Harris of Merkel, Texas and Monty and Melannie Cundiff of Bayfield, Colorado and Nina and Rick Martinez of Grand Junction, Colorado. He also leaves behind countless friends and fans of his work, all of who he loved dearly.

Mark believed in an extraordinary world where anything was possible. He was a master of the art of dreaming big and encouraging others to do the same. He had an unstoppable imagination and created grand visions of possibility and used his words and imagination to share those visions with the world in countless screenplays, books and an audiobook to soon be released.

Mark’s superpower was his ability to think in grandiose ways and create and share that imagination so that others could experience his view of the world where the “good guy” is not always who you expect.

He was relentless in encouraging others and motivating them to help them create the results they longed to see, like a vigilante seeking justice. Whether it was long-time friends celebrating a milestone birthday in one of his favorite places or other artists and creatives push hard and dream bigger.

His latest pursuit was to create Rebel Storytelling to encourage and motivate writers and his favorite slogan was “YOU are the story.”

He knew he was blessed and counted his blessings regularly. He valued each of his family and friends and saw the uniqueness and special characteristics in all of them, as if they were characters in his books. He was always the first to call or try to schedule lunch. He loved a great pizza, a Cuban sandwich and a great cigar outside in the sunshine.

Above all, Mark loved the Lord and cherished his wife and daughter, only wanting the best for them always.

You are invited to celebrate Mark’s life with a pizza party on Wednesday, May 17th at the Rio Rancho church of Christ at 1006 22nd St SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 from 4:00-7:00pm (come and go as you choose) or on Sunday, May 21st at the Greater Springfield church of Christ at 284 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 from 4:00-7:00pm

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the GoFundMe to help Lisa and Haley.
