Please help support The Stone Family

Hello, my name is Andrea Harris. My family and I are trying to raise funds for my Aunt Lisa, also known as Nanny, due to her husband Bud Stone became very ill and unstable around 3 months ago. Bud provides the main income for the family and due to him not working, paying the bills and buying everyday necessities has been difficult.

In October, Bud had not felt well for a couple of weeks and then toward the end of the month/beginning of November, became very sick all of a sudden and could barely walk, talk, and eat. Lisa finally got him to go to the ER where he spent going in and out of and having every known test done for about a month with absolutely no answers on what was wrong with him. On December 6th, he went to a doctor appointment where they were told he had lupus and they ended up admitting him to Akron City Hospital. He ended up being at City for about 2 weeks where they continued to do tests because he was not getting any better. A doctor told Lisa that he believed Bud could have hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) which is a rare, life-threatening syndrome that occurs when certain white blood cells build up and damage organs. They ended up deciding to have him transported to Cleveland Clinic where they said they would be able to do further research on what could be wrong with him. Over the course of about a month being in a hospital bed, Bud ended up with some really bad bed sores that got infected and needed surgery on them to properly clean them, causing him more pain and losing even more mobility than he had already lost. Bud was moved to a rehabilitation center on January 12th— still with no exact answer on what is wrong with him but they are saying lupus and HLH. During his 2 1/2 weeks in rehab, he had to undergo therapy because he is unable to do basic things on his own, like sitting and standing up, and feed and clean himself. Bud got to come home Tuesday, January 28th but he still has to have around the clock care, which his wife Lisa will be doing.

During these last 3 months, Bud has gone from 184lbs. to 121lbs, lost the ability to do mostly everything on his own, gained blood clots in his legs, has days where he doesn’t know where he is or who people are, has high anxiety and stress, and is still healing from his very badly infected bed sores. Treatment for him is still a question mark until he sees his doctor again. But from here on out, it will be an uphill battle to get him to where he needs to be physically and emotionally.

With all of this going on and Bud being the main provider in the household, Lisa needs some extra help paying house bills, medical bills, necessities and keeping food on the table. Their son Cory has also been working hard to bring some money in as well but could very much use the extra help since Bud will not be returning back to work for the foreseeable future.

Any amount of donations would be greatly appreciated and if you’re unable to donate, please take a moment to share! If you also would like to donate personally instead, please feel free to reach out to me (Andrea), Pam Webb (Lisa’s sister), Rebecca Louk (Lisa’s sister), Holly Juersivich (Lisa’s daughter) or Lisa Stone herself.

Thank you so much!
