Help Support The Shelby's

Hello my name is Alyssa and I created this fundraiser to help support the Shelby family through a very difficult and long medical journey. The Shelby's were on their way to celebrate Christmas with another family at a house they rented up in the mountains. The parents were driving one car and their two sons (Kayd and Koen) were in another car, along with one of their friends. Before they made it to the mountain, a large pickup towing a trailer loaded with 168 bails of hay, tipped over onto its side and slid directly into/onto Kayd and Koen's small pickup. Kayd (driving) was cut out of the car and transported via life flight to the hospital, while Koen and their friend were taken to the hospital via ambulance.

Koen Shelby has undergone multiple surgeries to stop internal bleeding and repair broken bones, and is currently undergoing physical therapy at the hospital. His older brother Kayd, has also undergone multiple surgeries to repair broken bones, and sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. He is still unconscious, but has been making slow, but positive progress. His parents have been told that Kayd will have a long road to recovery, with at least a year of consistent therapy once he does wake up.

I have started this Go Fund Me with hopes that they will have some financial support for the long road to recovery ahead of them. Your donation will be used to not only pay medical bills, but also for expenses while they are receiving specialized treatments outside of their home town.
