Hello, we are the kids of Michael and Melissa Shaw.

On November 27th, 2021 an unforgettable day unfolded. Since July of 2021, Michael had been experiencing a mysterious pain, but the ER visit yielded no answers. By August, the constant pain in his right shoulder blade persisted. Despite visits to his family doctor, chiropractor, and massage therapist, there was no relief. The day after Thanksgiving he unexpectedly visited the hospital, his condition taking a drastic turn, leading to a diagnosis of multiple masses in his chest and spine, indicating stage 4 lung cancer. This is where our journey of cancer began. With unwavering faith and support from cherished friends and family, we navigated the next 2 1/2 years, together.

During the end of 2023, things with Michael began to decline quickly. By March, we confronted the harsh truth of what lay ahead, with little time remaining.

Looking back on this harrowing journey, we are all so humbled by the countless prayers and acts of kindness from everyone around us. We continue to be grateful for every moment we spend with him. It has been a long and hard journey, however we know we will be able to see him healed again in Heaven.
