As floodwaters rose across southeast Queensland, Dylan, Karen, and their three children had no option but to evacuate their beautiful home in Red Hill, where they had lived for two years. On Sunday, 28 February, the family returned to utter devastation; floodwaters had risen halfway up the wall on the second story of their home. Not only was the property destroyed, but almost all contents were unsalvagable.
The ABC News https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-02-28/qld-flood-brisbane-residents-assess-damage/100869034 captured the aftermath of the floodwaters on their property.
The family is now displaced, living in emergency accommodation, and it will be many, many months before the family can return home.
In true Aussie style, family, friends, and strangers have rallied around the family to help with the mammoth clean-up activity.
Along with their other friends, our family wishes to show our support for this loving, generous and hardworking couple and their beautiful children.
If you can assist, all donations will be greatly appreciated. Whether you can spare $5 or $50, every cent will support this family by replacing household items. While the family does have a small amount of contents insurance, it will not stretch to cover the basics for a family of five.
We thank you for your support
