Help Logan Fight Wilms Tumor

My name is Deb Aspelin, I am a friend of the Pitman family. I am hoping to lift them up through these challenges, helping them to focus on Logan’s care as well as the siblings rather than the finances involved in this journey.

Last Thursday, our sweet Logan’s mom received a call from Logan’s school that he was in a lot of pain and needed to be picked up. When Cassie arrived at the school she could see Logan was struggling and took him to the ER in Spearfish. A CT scan revealed something on his kidney, and they were taken by ambulance to Rapid City and flown to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, CO. After days of testing and a biopsy, we received the heartbreaking diagnosis—Logan has Wilms Tumor, stage 3, attached to his kidney.

Wilms Tumor is a common and treatable childhood cancer, and we are holding on to hope. But the road ahead will be long and challenging. Logan will undergo:

• 12 weeks of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor

• Major surgery to remove it

• 12 more weeks of chemo and radiation to ensure it’s gone

This means constant travel—every three weeks to Children’s Hospital in Colorado for chemo, and weekly trips back and forth to Rapid City for additional treatments. The cost of gas, lodging, food, and time away from work is adding up fast.

We are asking for help to ease this burden so we can focus on what matters most—helping Logan heal. Every prayer, share, and donation means the world to us. Thank you for being a part of Logan’s fight!
