8th Grade Year-End Activities 2021

It has been a tough middle school tenure for the amazingly resilient 8th graders at NMS and they deserve to have a year-end full of as many fun-filled and festive activities as possible. In years past, there would be an 8th grade dance, a yearbook signing breakfast and more. Due to Covid-19, not only do we need to plan events differently but our ability to fund them is more difficult as well. With your help together we can make the end of the year extra special for each and every one of our children.

Activities currently being planned for NMS 8th graders include:

* 8th Grade Send-Off/Yearbook Signing (including lunch, dessert, beverages, and a few of surprises for each student, with festive decorations and some entertainment)

* Northport-wide Scavenger Hunt (a fun, team-worthy challenge with prizes upon completion)

* Drive-in Movie-under-the-Stars (with refreshments served throughout)

* Other surprises (which can’t be posted here or they wouldn’t be “surprises”)

The potential/anticipated costs to cover these expenses are approximately $35-$40 per student (there are 208 NMS 8th graders). However, recognizing the challenging times many families have been facing we asked for and were given permission to fundraise through Go Fund Me. We know everyone may not be able to contribute as much or even at all. Please do what you reasonably can, and feel free to share this link with any family or friends you think might want to support and help make every Northport Middle School 8th grader’s end-of-middle-school experience as wonderful as they deserve!
