On Monday, March 6th, 2017 Felipe Mejia: a 36 year old son, brother, husband and father who believed in the power of his faith and in the good of man passed from this world into the loving arms of the Father.

He was a good, kind, smart and thoughtful man.  

Felipe was the provider for his family. He helped found, and was the principal of,  Altus Academy (a not-for-profit school in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood). Before that he dedicated himself to working with under-served students through his work at Midtown Educational Foundation and the Benito Juarez Community Academy.

He leaves behind his wife, Amanda (Anseth), who was diagnosed with MS when she was just 27 and is unable to work due to her illness. Felipe's hard work through the years allowed her to remain a loving and nurturing stay-at-home mom to their three beautiful children, Lourdes -9, Filomena - 8 and Nehemiah - 4. They are just heartbroken  at this loss. 

The family is going to need help. With rent, utilities, food, clothes and shoes for growing children and with the outstanding medical bills.

Please give if you can, help prove to this wonderful family that there is beauty in this world as they deal with this devastating loss.
