Yesterday one of my best friends and her family suffered an insurmountable loss. At almost 36 weeks pregnant and completely ready to welcome Piper Ann into this world, baby Piper’s heart stopped and nothing could be done to save her. Gena had to be induced and go through labor to deliver her daughter that she would never bring home. During the labor, Gena’s condition became unstable and the doctors worked diligently to make sure she made it home to her 2 sons and husband, Brett. I am starting this GoFundMe page for this family, whom I love and want to help in any way possible. There are no words that can help make this better, but if some of the daily stress can be relieved, if only for a few weeks – then this will be worth it. Any amount donated – even $10.00 would help. All money received will go to things such as unexpected funeral costs, the redecoration of a nursery that will not be used, groceries, and possibly affording Brett the opportunity to spend a few more days at home with Gena during this traumatic time – without the constant worry of needing to return to work to pay the bills. I know this family has so much love and support from so many people and I am hoping we can all come together and support them as much as possible during this devastating time.
