My mother struggled with immense pain throughout her life. Nevertheless, she would always give my brothers and I an insurmountable amount of love.

My fondest memory of her was the summer of ‘08 I believe. We would go to the beach every week during summer vacation. My mama and my brothers and I would go to either Santa Monica or Venice beach to relax in the sun and boogey-board in the ocean. It was a relaxing time. It was the calm before the tumultuous storm entered her life… id like to believe that she is reliving these peaceful moments endlessly.

As time went by, her overall health began to deteriorate. She suffered through so much pain. It began to envelop her being and inevitably consume her.

My mother tried escaping this pain through unhealthy alternatives and sadly, passed away.

Mental health issues are real and MUST be taken seriously. If you are struggling in your life please reach out to someone. If you know someone that is suffering please reach out to them. Help them before it’s too late.
