My name is Gordon Gibb and I operate The Kawartha Time Machine, an internet radio station heavy on nostalgia that I began as a hobby 10 years ago but has morphed into a popular spot where people go to listen to music, as well as historical broadcast archives unique to this region - and unique to the station. Listeners the world over regularly tune in to either experience, or revisit the unique part of Canada that is the Kawartha region, located about two hours northeast of Toronto and known fondly as 'cottage country,' with its wealth of pristine lakes and rivers, green space and tree canopies. The website, at https://kawarthatimemachine.com/ is a reflection of life in this magnificent part of Canada.
Canadians, as well as listeners from more than 100 countries around the world tune in on a regular basis. I am launching this fundraiser simply to cover annual costs for web hosting, streaming, site registration and music licensing fees required to keep this site going, and keep it available to the thousands of listeners who say they absolutely love what we do, and derive a great deal of enjoyment from it.
I am now retired. I sell no advertising, and thus cover all of the hardware, software, streaming and hosting costs out of my own pocket, which quite frankly is becoming increasingly difficult to manage. I would rue the day I have to pull the plug on something that so many people tell me they enjoy, and come back to often.
All funds will be used to cover operating expenses, to keep this fine little enterprise viable, alive and enjoyed by so many. All of my time is volunteer, and none of these funds will go to me directly. Not a penny.
I thank you, in helping, if you so choose, to help keep this little gem going. And if you are at all curious, please feel free to sample https://kawarthatimemachine.com/ at any time.
