On March 30, 2025, Brampton firefighters battled a 2-alarm blaze at a home on Marshmarigold Drive. Two of the family members were transported to hospital with smoke inhalation while two others were taken for precautionary reasons. Luckily everyone was ok, and they were discharged same day. Unfortunately, there was no home to return to as the electrical fire had destroyed the entire house leaving the family with nothing more than the clothing on their back. Now the family needs to rebuild their lives and try to replace the items they lost many of which held sentimental value.

Although devastated by this tragedy, the family is blessed to have each other, Hithem Hirmiz and his wife Amaal Hana together with their children, daughters Athraa and Rinan (and her husband Ronak), and sons Evan and Liyth. They are members of the Good Shepherd Chaldean Church and maintain their love for each other and their faith in God.

The family has always opened their hearts and home to their family and friends, often feeding an army of their children’s friends and making everyone feel welcome. This Go Fund Me is designed to help the Hithem family get back on their feet.
