However, halfway through the pregnancy Ashley was diagnosed with Placenta Previa, a serious pregnancy complication that caused her to be hospitalized twice and placed on strict bed rest 6 weeks prior to Birdie's early arrival. Birdie then spent her first 15 days of life receiving around the clock medical care in the NICU. Just two days before bringing her baby girl home, Ashley was sent to the emergency room via ambulance with a secondary postpartum hemorrhaging condition caused by the placenta previa.
All of this was obviously not easy on Ashley, Brian and the family. She couldn't care for their two kids the way she is used to, or help pack and move to their new home. Brian had to take over the responsibilities of the home, caring for his family, and moving them. Hello super daddy/husband!
And, I know they are SUPER grateful for ALL the help they did receive with child care, moving, meals from family etc.
The past several months has placed significant stress on the family emotionally and financially. Brian is the sole provider of the family and being free lance he doesn't have the luxury of paid vacation or family leave.
As you can imagine, all of this has caused a hard time with finances and Brian being able to work and complete projects.
Birdie is now home! Yay! However, Ashley still needs to be resting and recovering from the c-section, and Birdie is a preemie and will need extra care.
Let's help ease the massive stress and financial strain so Ashley has time to recover, Brian can breathe a little, and they can enjoy their new baby girl and new home as a sweet family of 5!
Thank you all!
