Folks, I have an update but first of all I'd like to personally thank each and everyone of you that have either donated or shared this with someone else, huge effort !!
3 weeks ago, Maddie somehow contracted meningitis, the swelling on the brain was serve. Along with the several treatments including lumbar punctures, the Meningitis is finally resolving and Maddie has begun eating again.
The Foy's were told back then to start to make their final arrangements as the prospects, well were dire. The Family gathered and somehow Maddie's ongoing strength has seen her condition improve to the point specialists are now planning on some rehabilitation that will see her walk again. Maddie has only been in hospital for two months so far, but is the most positive news the Foy's have received. Family and friends, Maddie still has a very long way to go. I will post another update when I have more information about Maddie's recovery. THIS IS AMAZING NEWS AT THIS POINT.
My Name is Mark Bergin. My very dear friends Steve & Lauren Foy have suddenly been faced with the confronting news that one their beautiful daughters Maddie has been diagnosed with Leukemia. They have 4 daughters under 12 years of age and Maddie started her 9 month hospital treatment at the start of Oct 2019. They live in a remote part of Western Australia and now Maddie is in Perth which is a two day drive each way. They have had to rent a second house in Perth so two daughters can finish the school year before moving to Perth at the end of the year. Its impossible to know the medical expenses at this stage. Any donations you can make will go to medical expenses, petrol expenses between Perth and Tom Price (WA) for mum Lauren and the school girls to visit, renting the second house and importantly, anything to help Maddie comfortable through this long and painful treatment.
