My name is Gattlon and I am a local entrepreneur in Marshall and DeKalb county. More specifically I am a real estate investor. Most of you know that in real estate you meet all kinds of people with all kinds of stories. Some stories stick with you more than others. This is one of those cases.
I met Brandon and his family a few weeks ago when he called me about selling his house. Brandon was also an entrepreneur and had been doing pretty well for himself running a contractor business. Unfortunately Brandon lost part of his arm in a work related accident and is no longer able to continue that line of work. When Brandon called me I could tell that he was worried about being behind on the house. He had a plan to get caught up but was afraid if he didn't sell the house it would be too late and he would lose it either way. This is a scary situation to face, especially with a wife and seven children to think about.
But with Brandon I didn't see someone that needed to sell their house, just someone that needed a little help during this difficult time. Rather than let his injury define him or keep him down he adjusted his plan to still be able to provide for his family. Brandon is currently taking classes at the technical college for operating heavy equipment and should have a job in another month or two after he finishes his classes. In the meantime, they could use our help in getting caught up on bills until he finishes his classes and gets back on his feet. I am starting this fundraiser in hopes that the community will be able to help me with assisting this family during this difficult time.
