It is with heavy hearts that we share the story of Ramon Meza-Opazo, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated advocate for justice. In August 2021, Ramon was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer, a devastating illness that he has faced with incredible courage and grace.

Ramon has spent the last decade selflessly serving his community as a Staff Lawyer at Legal Aid, working tirelessly since 2013 to assist those in need through the complexities of both criminal and family law. His compassion for others, especially the most vulnerable, defined his career—and touched the lives of countless individuals and families.

Now, Ramon and his family need our support.

Recently, Ramon entered hospice care, as his battle with cancer has reached its final chapter. This incredibly difficult time is made even harder by the reality that he is preparing to leave behind his beloved wife Norangie and their five beautiful children.

We are reaching out to all who know Ramon—whether as a colleague, a friend, or simply as someone who has been moved by his story—to ask for your help. Your donation will go directly to supporting his family in the months and years ahead as they face unimaginable loss and transition into a life without their husband and father.
