Karla was a passenger in her own car, with no control over the situation. In an instant, her life was taken because of someone else’s reckless decision.

Karla was a loving mother, devoted daughter and sister, and a deeply cherished member of her family and community. Her greatest joy in life was her young daughter, who is now facing the unimaginable reality of growing up without her mother.

No family ever expects to endure such a devastating loss, especially one caused by something entirely preventable like drunk driving.
