Many of you know my Brother Jamie unexpectedly passed away in the middle of January at the young age of only 40.
In his passing he Leaves behind his two children, Kalin,18 who is just starting college and Jordan,15 Who also deals with a form of high functioning Autism.
Jordan will need assistance as she grows into adulthood.
My brother Jamie, was also the primary caregiver for our Father Jeri who suffers with severe disabilities that render him immobile at times.
No one ever plans for their son or father to pass at such an early age and there were no funds set up to help in this situation. Things are falling in the lap of his 18 year old son as he is next of kin, who goes to school, and works part time to put himself through college on his own.
My father and I are on very somewhat fixed and limited income, as i am mainly a stay at home mom and (our) dad isn't well.
We are trying to keep this bill from landing on his children.
There is no life insurance, or anything In place to help us in this tragic situation.
We could not even afford proper services for my brother Jamie.
what we are asking for is any little help to cover just the bills so there is no debt for a young man and woman trying to grieve and create a future for themselves.
our father canot afford his own medication but has put out money to cover as much as he can help to support his grandchildren.
If we reach our goal - any extra money will be going directly to the education and support of his children.
The best way to honor my Brother and your Friends memory is to make sure his children are not left in financial debt (especially) while grieving, and to give them the chance to be better then we were.
Its alot for two young adults to deal with and that is something i can understand as our mother also passed at a young age.
Even though Kalin has a better understanding and chance for recovery financially, Jordans needs and dependacies are alot more, and now more so our dad's, now that Jamie is gone it is a hardship for dad to get the care he needs just to do basic daily tasks.
