Slimmer family accident support fund
On Thursday June 24th, Dan & Diane were headed to Utah to enjoy their yearly vacation. This trip was extra special as Dan & Diane were nearing retirement at the end of the year. While driving through Colorado the weather began to change rapidly, producing some of the worst storms Colorado has had in years. They encountered a puddle that caused their Spyder to hydroplane, ending in a horrific crash. Dan did not survive his injuries. Diane was transported to the nearest hospital for stabilization. Once her injuries were known she was airlifted to a trauma center for a higher level of care.
Diane has been a Registered Nurse for the last 38 years serving her community at St. Gabriel’s. Over the years she has been recognized for her kindness and compassion by the many lives she has positively impacted through her care. She has also overcome many obstacles, surviving cancer twice!
Dan was known for his work in the automotive and construction industry. He had a true passion for anything with a motor and enjoyed spending his time wrenching on machines and being with his family. He was always so proud of Diane & their children- Steven & Melissa. Together they were looking forward to retirement and spending more time with their grandchildren- Kaylee, Cole, Maralyn, Adelyn, Olivia, & Isabella.
Dan & Diane are very well known within their communities for the amazing people they are. Many have asked how they can help during this difficult time. With permission from the family this account has been started to help alleviate costs & allow Diane to focus on her recovery.
Please keep their family in your prayers as they navigate through such a loss.
